Bend stations stay off while touch bend is active.
Working with a cutting
Follow the line.
- Place. Drag the selected cutting onto the pins. Open Materials to choose another; choosing does not place it.
- Aim. Drag a branch to turn its continuation.
- Bend. Drag the pale point into a broad curve. The stem keeps its length.
- Slide the base. Drag the base ring to slide the cutting across the pins.
- Prune. Slide along a stem. The faded part will leave when you release. Press Escape, or switch tools, to cancel.
- Step Back. Choose Orbit to turn around the arrangement, or Pan to shift your view up, down or sideways. The bowl and cuttings stay together. Pinch or scroll to zoom. Open Angles for Front, ¾ or Above to recenter.
Changes save on this device when you release. Use Edit to undo the last change or remove the selected cutting. Undo is one step, has no redo, and clears when you reload or replace the bowl. Open Garden to keep versions.
Angles → Stem overlaps adds amber inspection marks for possible intersections between the main stems of separate cuttings. Orbit to check their depth. Leaves, flowers and the bowl are not checked; shaping stays free.
Optional study · Line and water
Reveal one strong leaning line. Leave a shape of water visible.
Follow a stem from its base to its tip. Try Aim or Slide the base to make its direction easier to see. From Above, notice the shape of the water around it.
You can stop with one cutting. There is no required angle or amount of visible water.
Optional study · Two voices
Let one cutting lead, and let another answer.
Try the flowering branch with the leafy shoot, or a bare line with a single flower. Notice where leaves gather and where a stem remains visible. Aim them together or apart, then look at the space between them.
Which line draws your eye first? A different answer from another view is something to explore.
Optional study · Before one more cut
Name what you would reveal before removing anything.
Preview a cut and compare the remaining line with what would leave. Switch to Shape or press Escape to cancel. Release only if you want that permanent cut.
Keeping the material is also a decision. This study needs no cut to be complete.
Optional study · Across the table
Make a lower arrangement for a table where people will talk across it.
A brief for you to interpret. Nothing here decides whether an arrangement passes.
Keep a bowl, copy it, revise it, and keep the revision. Then compare the two in Garden.
Choose any study, or make freely. Before another change, give yourself a moment to look. You decide when enough is enough.
Closes this guide and enters Step Back at your current view. Return to Arrange whenever you wish.
